Roshel opens first U.S. production facility in Michigan

Roshel, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of smart armored vehicles, has officially inaugurated its first U.S.-based production facility in Shelby Township, Michigan.

This strategic move marks a pivotal moment for the company as it brings its manufacturing capabilities closer to its U.S. customers, who now represent the majority of Roshel’s demand.

“This is a defining moment for Roshel. It has been a long journey to get here, but now we are ready to serve the U.S. market with products proudly ‘Made in USA,’” said Roman Shimonov, CEO of Roshel. “By establishing a production facility in the United States, we’re bringing manufacturing closer to our customers, strengthening our ability to adapt to evolving challenges by fostering local partnerships with the communities we serve.”

The Michigan plant reflects Roshel’s dedication to supporting U.S. defense operations and law enforcement agencies. Modeled after the company’s advanced facilities in Canada, the new site integrates all key manufacturing processes under one roof, ensuring streamlined production of Roshel’s renowned armored vehicles, including the combat-proven Senator MRAP. The facility also houses a dedicated service center to provide ongoing support for vehicles already in operation across the United States.

This U.S. expansion reinforces Roshel’s commitment to operational readiness, customer support, and adherence to the highest quality standards. The facility’s production capabilities are expected to boost efficiency, reduce delivery times, and enhance the company’s competitiveness in the American market. Additionally, the investment highlights Roshel’s focus on contributing to the local economy through job creation and fostering partnerships within the community.

Last week, Roshel announced the launch of two new models now entering full production: the Senator Medical Evacuation and the Captain. According to company CEO Roman Shimonov, these vehicles are already contracted in significant numbers, with deliveries continuing through the end of 2024.

“Wrapping up 2024, Roshel Defence has two new models—the Senator Medical Evacuation and the Captain—now in full production. With hundreds of units already contracted, deliveries are underway and will continue through the end of the year,” Shimonov said.

Roshel’s vehicles are trusted by defense, law enforcement, and governmental organizations worldwide. The company operates over 400,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities and handles all orders in-house, from design and development to fabrication and assembly. Beyond manufacturing, Roshel provides end-to-end solutions that include logistics, training, and in-service support to ensure seamless deployment and sustained operational performance.

Since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Roshel has supplied more than 1,500 armored personnel carriers (APCs) and MRAPs to Ukraine, underscoring its reliability and dedication to global security. With the Michigan facility now operational, Roshel is poised to deliver innovative, American-built solutions to meet the highest standards of performance and compliance for U.S. and international customers alike.
