Pakistan to receive 100 FW armored vehicles from Thailand

Thailand has signed a first export agreement to supply the Pakistan Army with 100 Chaiseri First Win (FW) 4×4 armored vehicles, as part of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in September in Islamabad.

The deal, led by the state-owned Thai Defence Industry Company (TDI), covered Thai-built First Win vehicles integrated into the Pakistani Army’s fleet and included a transfer of production technology to facilitate local manufacturing.

The Royal Thai Armed Forces, which announced the agreement, emphasized that the MOU not only facilitates the sale of the First Win armored vehicles but also offers Pakistan’s defense industry technological advancement through domestic production capabilities.

In accordance with the agreement, Thailand’s Chaiseri Company will manufacture an initial batch of FW vehicles, with Pakistani defense firm Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) set to handle production of the remaining units locally. This approach aims to enhance the self-sufficiency of Pakistan’s defense industry, allowing HIT to integrate the technology and potentially produce additional units to meet its own future requirements.

The First Win, produced by Chaiseri, is known for its modular design and flexibility in adapting to different mission requirements, ranging from personnel transport to command and control roles. This armored vehicle has been adopted in various configurations by the Royal Thai Army and is valued for its combination of mobility, protection, and adaptability.
