North Korea parades long-range anti-tank missile carrier

On 9 September, North Korean military displayed a new long-range anti-tank missile carrier at a military parade to mark its 70th anniversary.

Shown for the first time were new long-range anti-tank missile ініеуьі, which were based at a M-2010 6×6 wheeled armoured personnel carriers.

The officials have not released further details; however, footage made during the parade shows that the self-contained missile launcher system is similar in appearance to the Israel-made Spike non-line-of-sight (NLOS) multi-purpose tactical missile system.

At one time, South Korea ordered similar systems with Spike NLOS multi-purpose tactical missile system for its armed forces.

The Spike NLOS missiles were bought from Israel after the North shelled Yeonpyeong Island in November 2010 and are supposedly capable of destroying North Korean artillery kept in underground bunkers. They were deployed warfare-ready on the five north-westernmost islands in May.

In an over three hour-long event held to mark the 70th anniversary of the DPRK’s founding, the country notably opted not to display any intercontinental ballistic missiles or medium-range ballistic missiles.
