India strikes targets inside Pakistan

India carried out a series of coordinated missile and artillery strikes against targets in Pakistan on Wednesday, claiming the sites were being used as “terrorist infrastructure.”

The strikes come just two weeks after 26 civilians were killed in an attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which New Delhi has attributed to groups based in Pakistan.

According to Indian officials, the operation targeted nine sites using a combination of cruise missiles, precision-guided munitions launched from Rafale and Su-30 fighter jets, and kamikaze drones. Pakistani authorities have confirmed the presence of drone debris near several impact locations.

Indian officials stated that no Pakistani military installations were hit during the strikes.

In response, Pakistan’s government condemned the attack as “an overt act of aggression” and said it reserves the right to retaliate with strikes of its own.

The Pakistani Ministry of Defense has also claimed that several Indian fighter jets were shot down during the incident, although there has been no confirmation from the Indian Air Force or the Ministry of Defence.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors remain high. Both nations have a history of military confrontations, particularly over the disputed region of Kashmir.
