Despite war, Ukraine boosts SHERP production

Even amid ongoing war, Ukraine has maintained production and expanded the global reach of its SHERP all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).

The vehicles, renowned for their extreme mobility and versatility, are now being exported to over 100 countries, with production facilities established in Turkey and India to meet rising demand.

Oleksandr Biletskyi, CEO of Ukrainian company Quadro International, which manufactures the SHERP ATVs, recently detailed the company’s resilience and adaptability during an interview.

“We continue to develop new products and move faster than others,” Biletskyi stated. “Our company exports to more than 100 countries worldwide. Many are trying to catch up with us, but SHERP remains a truly innovative product.”

Despite operating under the constant threat of missile strikes, Quadro International preserved its Ukrainian manufacturing capabilities while also launching assembly plants abroad.

“Our factory produces between 30 to 100 vehicles per month, depending on demand. Additionally, we have two assembly plants for large-kit assembly in India and Turkey,” Biletskyi added.

India has emerged as one of the largest buyers of SHERP vehicles. A joint venture with JSW Defence and JSW Gecko Motors has led to the localized production of the SHERP N1200, branded as the ATOR N1200. The Indian Army recently issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement of 24 additional units of the ATV, following an earlier order of 96 vehicles.

SHERP vehicles are also being utilized in United Nations peacekeeping missions and by Ukrainian emergency response teams. Their ability to traverse extreme terrains makes them indispensable for both military and humanitarian applications.

Biletskyi emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing its product line: “We’re not just maintaining production; we’re advancing it. The need for versatile, high-performance vehicles is greater than ever, and we are ready to meet that demand.”
