Chinese escort taskforce conducts drill in Gulf of Aden

The 24th Chinese escort taskforce, which is composed of the guided-missile destroyer Harbin (Hull 112), the guided-missile frigate Handan (Hull 579) and the comprehensive supply ship Dongpinghu (Hull 960) from the North China Sea Fleet of the Chinese PLA Navy, conducted a multi-subject drill in the east waters of the Gulf of Aden.

Conducting such maritime training which is close to escort mission is designed to improve the commanding officers’ operational commanding capabilities at all levels, and the troops’ capability of dealing with various situations, fast responding and carrying out special operations.

On photo the guided-missile frigate Handan (Hull 579) and the comprehensive supply ship Dongpinghu (Hull 960) steam in formation during a multi-subject drill in the east waters of the Gulf of Aden.
