Brazilian companies feature products and services at Eurosatory 2016

The participation of Brazil this year in Eurosatory, one of the most important defense and security fairs in the world, reaches a new record. This year, 17 companies associated with the Brazilian Defense and Security Industry Association (ABIMDE) will showcase the most advanced products and services from Brazil. That includes weaponry, ammunition, vehicles, technologies for communication and built-in systems, system integration, and simulation platforms, among others.

The Brazilian booth is coordinated by ABIMDE in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Agency (Apex-Brasil) and with the support of the Ministry of Defense. Below is a list of some of the Brazilian companies that will be present at the French fair held between June 13 and 17 at the Parc des Expositions Paris-Nord-Villepinte.

The aerospacial company Altave will showcase at the 2016 Eurosatory the ALTAVE OMNI, the first wide-range surveillance aerostat solution ever developed for civilian usage in the world. Four ALTAVE OMNIs were purchased by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice as a key-technology solution to help prevent crime during the Olympic Games. The units will fly 200 meters above the four Olympic headquarters, providing continuous surveillance to areas larger than 40 km2.

At the 2016 Eurosatory, the highlight among the solutions provided by Ares is REMAX, which will have an area in ARES’s booth dedicated to the demonstration of this product that has been officially adopted by the Brazilian Army. It is a remotely controlled and gyro-stabilized weaponry station for 12.7 mm or 7.62 mm machine guns. REMAX was developed based on Brazilian Army requirements in partnership with the Army Technology Center (CTEx).

Atech, an Embraer Group company, will be another Brazilian highlight at the 2016 Eurosatory. It will offer C4ISR solutions for air, sea and land systems, surveillance, air traffic management, and civilian control and security. In the field of cyber-security, Atech will also present Athena, a software/hardware integrated solution that operates as a security platform inside a box. Athena enables safe access to Web applications via the internet or any other network considered to be unsafe.

Avibras Aerospacial Industry (Avibras Indústria Aeroespacial) will introduce at the 2016 Eurosatory the ASTROS MK6 system and the Guará 4WS 4×4 police car.

The MK-6 ASTROS (Artillery Rocket System for Area Saturation) is a land-land rocket system featuring great mobility and the ability to launch rockets and missiles of various calibers at a range between 9 km and 300 km. A versatile system, it can be employed for campaign artillery and operations on the coast. With a few adaptations, this version of ASTROS can incorporate an unmanned rocket or a tactical cruise missile.

The Guará 4WS 4×4 was entirely developed by Avibras. The final product is a vehicle with excellent level of ballistic protection. Its high agility and mobility, with 4×4 traction and control for each wheel, offers a differential as far as police cars go, which is crucial in both urban and rural areas.

Cecil SA Metal Lamination (Cecil AS Laminação de Metais) will be present through its subsidiary Linea Defense, one of the main providers of raw material, components and ammunition for the military and commercial industry in Brazil and South America. The company will be introducing its line of brass and copper straps, jackets and cups for small-caliber ammunition, brass discs for large-caliber ammunition and military artillery.

Fulstandig specializes in import and export for trade shows and events in Brazil. The company offers exhibitors and event organizers an excellent infrastructure and a specialized team for customs procedures and operations at event locations, as well as its private vehicle fleet and warehouses. Fulstandig is authorized by the Brazilian Army to obtain licenses for importing controlled materials.

Oto Melara do Brasil will introduce its 105-120mm HITFACT line. HITFACT® was submitted to Guarani 8×8 and adapted to Brazilian Army requirements. Electrically operated, it is a tower designed for three crew members and allows the inclusion of a 105/52 low-recoil tube derived from L7 or 120/45. HITFACT® is able to fire all NATO ammunitions, including the latest ones.

PROTECTA Proteção Balística

Protecta Proteção Balística highlights its bulletproof vests at the 2016 Eurosatory. Visitors will have a chance to check out the complete line of models with different levels of ballistic protection. The entire line of Protecta vests is manufactured with layers of aramid fiber specially designed for each level of protection. In addition, Protecta vests feature an exclusive Antitrauma Spyder technology, which ensures traumas 30% lower than allowed by the NIJ 0101.04 norm regulating the field.
