Bogdan Corporation showcases BARS-8 armored vehicle with a new combat module Taipan

Bogdan Corporation (Ukrainian automobile-manufacturing group) have unveiled a multi-purpose “BARS-8” vehicle with a new combat module Taipan at «Arms and Security – 2016» exhibition.

“BARS-8” all-terrain vehicle with enhanced durability has passed tests of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine this April. “KIA Military KM-450” multi-purpose truck, “Hyundai HD65” and “Hyundai HD120” trucks as well as “Bogdan Cargo” and “Bogdan Nurse” framed vehicles with all-wheel drive will be represented at the Military Training Area together with “BARS-8”.

The “Taipan” is a combat module and equipped with a rapid-fire machine gun caliber double-barreled 23 mm, the effective range of which reaches 1.8 km. Other combat module modifications can be equipped with a machine gun 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm, and 30 mm grenade launcher with a separate elevation drive unite.

Remote controle of the combat module is carried out at a distance of 500 meters with 3 hours battery life. The minimum weight of the combat module is 350 kg.
