Turkish defense giant ASELSAN unveiled its newest mobile short-range air defense system, the KORKUT 100/25 SB, at the DSEI 2025 defense exhibition in London.
According to ASELSAN, the KORKUT 100/25 SB is engineered to neutralize the growing challenge posed by mini and micro unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including drone swarms. The system is armed with 25mm ATOM Airburst Smart Ammunition, which enables it to destroy aerial targets with high precision and controlled lethality.
Company officials describe the new platform as “mission-ready,” integrating both soft-kill and hard-kill capabilities into a single highly mobile vehicle.
In a statement, ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol called the system a “major milestone for ASELSAN and the future of close-range air defense,” adding that it “sets a new standard for tactical drone defense on the modern battlefield.”
The KORKUT 100/25 SB employs radar and electro-optic sensors for automatic detection and tracking, supported by artificial intelligence-driven algorithms that guide its advanced fire control system. The stabilized turret houses high-resolution day and thermal cameras along with a laser rangefinder, ensuring target engagement even in complex terrain or low-visibility conditions.
Critically, the system maintains its engagement capabilities while in motion, enhancing survivability and responsiveness in rapidly evolving tactical scenarios. ASELSAN emphasizes that the platform is capable of intercepting fast, low-flying drones — either operating alone or as part of a coordinated swarm — making it well-suited for expeditionary forces and forward-deployed units.
The debut coincides with ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary. “We are proud to present this mission-ready system to our international partners,” said Akyol, “reaffirming ASELSAN’s commitment to delivering innovative, high-performance solutions that ensure operational superiority.”
KORKUT 100/25 SB joins a wider portfolio of ASELSAN-developed layered defense systems on display at the show, which includes radar technologies, electro-optical systems, and naval air defense solutions. The company’s presence at DSEI 2025 reinforces Türkiye’s growing role as a provider of integrated defense technologies to allied and partner nations.
ASELSAN’s display at DSEI also featured a full suite of STEELDOME counter-drone concepts, demonstrating the company’s focus on scalable, modular technologies for complex air defense environments.
