Finland to purchase night vision gear from Senop

Finland’s Defense Forces have announced the acquisition of advanced Senop EVA M night vision devices, as part of a framework agreement signed last year with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command.

As noted by the company, the agreement provides both nations with a streamlined and cost-effective process to procure essential equipment that enhances soldiers’ combat readiness.

In the current operational environment, night combat capability is a decisive factor. “Equipment must be durable, high-performing, and lightweight,” said Aki Korhonen, CEO of Senop. “The user-friendliness and ergonomic design of night vision devices are equally crucial.”

The Senop EVA M devices have been developed and rigorously tested in collaboration with Finnish Defense Forces experts. Referred to as VV M25 within the Finnish military, the devices build on the foundational design of the Senop EVA systems delivered between 2019 and 2024. Improvements to the EVA M model reflect user feedback, emphasizing enhanced functionality and ease of use.

The Senop EVA M is a compact, lightweight night vision device incorporating the latest in aspheric and composite technologies. These innovations make the system not only lightweight but also exceptionally high-performing, offering soldiers superior situational awareness during night operations.

“Feedback from the field is invaluable in product development,” noted Erkki Tarvainen, head of Senop’s product development projects.

The devices are manufactured in Finland, underscoring the nation’s commitment to strengthening domestic production capabilities and national resilience.
