Ukrainian company “Ukrainian Armor” has unveiled the “Varta 2,” a new 14-ton armored vehicle fitted with a 30mm turret, at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Poland.
The “Varta 2” is built on a Turkish BASE chassis and can achieve speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour, powered by a Cummins ISB 6.7 engine with 360 horsepower and an Allison 3200SP automatic transmission.
As noted by the company, the vehicle combines speed and power with advanced protective features, including a ground clearance of 400 mm and STANAG 3a/3b mine and ballistic protection, ensuring it can operate in varied and challenging environments.
Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armor, emphasized the innovative aspects of the new vehicle. “The ‘Varta 2’ is an entirely new machine developed from ten years of company experience, the needs of the military, and the conditions of modern warfare,” said Belbas. “It is designed to carry 10 crew members and is equipped with the ‘Sich’ remote controlled turret featuring a 30mm automatic cannon, providing formidable firepower necessary to support infantry and destroy enemy armored vehicles.”
The vehicle’s defensive capabilities are further enhanced by modern safety systems, including mine-resistant seats and an integrated air filtration system to protect against chemical and biological threats. It also features advanced light camouflage and ICoMWare software suite, which offers situational awareness and command support through a secure mesh network using broadband DTC radio stations.
The company says “Varta 2” is not just a vehicle; it’s a mobile fortress designed to adapt to the complexities of contemporary combat scenarios. With its independent suspension and CTIS system, it demonstrates exceptional maneuverability and obstacle clearance capabilities.
