Russian Ministry of Defence confirms troops alerted

The Russian Ministry of Defence has confirmed information about that Russian military command suddenly puts troops on full combat alert but noted that is only in Transbaikal Military District.

A number of compounds of the combined military association of the Eastern Military District (VVO), stationed in the Transbaikal region, were put on alert in the framework of the second stage of the control check for the winter period of training, said in announced by Russian Ministry of Defence.

The events involve servicemen of air defence, artillery, missile forces and communications.

The tested compounds include operational-tactical missile systems Iskander, self-propelled howitzer Msta, multiple rocket launchers Uragan and anti-aircraft missile systems Buk.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier, activities of Russian troops were spotted in the Western part of Russia, near the borders with Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus, as well as in the Transbaikal region and the Far East. On April 8-9 active movements of a large number of military vehicles and tanks, also were seen moving of the Iskander missile systems with Air Defence support.
