On November 10, 2017, the unique Antonov AN-70 short takeoff and landing (STOL) multipurpose cargo aircraft, flew from Gostomel to UAE, to have an international debut at the International Dubai Airshow 2017.
At the Dubai Airshow, which runs from 12th to 16th November 2017, Antonov company will showcase its new transport aircraft, included modern AN-132D and unique Antonov AN-70.
The Antonov AN-70 is a short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft STOL military freighter, which has no equal in most of its capabilities, being the only aircraft in the world capable of take−off and landing from short unpaved runways of 600−700 meters while carrying up to 20 tonnes cargo over 3000 kilometers.
The AN-70 is fitted with modern electronic equipment and systems of fully digital control. The AN-70 is competitive enough as for the airframe and power pant characteristics as well as airborne system. The first production AN-70s constructed at Antonov Serial Plant will have a modern configuration of electronic equipment.
In January 2015, the AN-70 was adopted by Armed Forces of Ukraine. At present, the aircraft is passing Special Tests programme.
Antonov is currently working on a new, westernised version of the AN−70. The new version of AN−70 aircraft will receive new onboard systems and equipment to replace Russian components.
