Techimpex develops new ultra-light tactical vehicle

Ukrainian vehicle manufacturer Techimpex displayed new LTA ultra-light tactical vehicle at the Arms and Security 2017 defence exhibition in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The new LTA (Lehkyy Taktychnyy Avtomobil or in English Light Tactical Vehicle) is a new 4×2 off-road vehicle developed by Techimpex with experts of Vinnitsa National Technical University as a private venture.

The curb weight of the LTA vehicle is 1270kg. The LTA is powered by a 2,0l, four-stroke 4-cylinder diesel turbocharged engine with a power output of 240 hp, giving the vehicle a cruising range of 570 km and a maximum speed of 130 km/h.

The vehicle can be fitted with optional equipment and systems, such as smoke grenade launchers, a remote weapons station, weapon mounts. Also, the LTA can be equipped with a 12,7 mm DShKM (DShKM-T) heavy machine gun; a 7,62 mm PKM machine gun; a 30 mm AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher; or a 40 mm UAG-40 automatic grenade launcher.

The vehicle is air transportable by the Mi-8 helicopter or the An-26, An-72 and An-178 cargo aircraft.
