Russia conducts TV7-117ST engine test for the new Il-112 military transport aircraft

JSC “United engine corporation”  engineers conducted a successful test of TV7-117ST engine for new Russian Il-112V military transport aircraft.

The TV7-117S engine has been offered to power the newest Russian turboprop aircraft such as Ilyushin Il-112 and Ilyushin Il-114. The TV7-117 engine family are produced by Klimov JSC (St. Petersburg), Chernishov JSC (Moscow) and the Baranov JSC (Omsk).

The new engine has maximum power output more than 3000 hp and 3600 hp during 2.5- minute power rating,  with one engine inoperative.

  • Dry weight: 500 kg
  • Fuel consumption at rated power:  200 kg/h
  • Power: 3000 hp

Russian United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) plans to make the first flight of the new  Il-112V military transport aircraft in 2017, the Voronezh Region administration said.

The Voronezh Aircraft Plant (VASO) is the main producer of the Il-112V military transport plane, the administration added.

“VASO has already started building the first prototype. The prototype is expected to perform the first flight in mid-2017,” the administration said.
