Thousands of Belarus troops begin deploying along Lithuanian border

The Belarus troops have begun deploying along the Lithuanian border against the background of the NATO’s military exercise involves about 18,000 soldiers from 19 countries.

The belvpo.com reported that from 12 to 20 June in the Western operational command is conducted a bilateral command-staff war game with the 6th and 11th mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

About a hundred infantry fighting vehicles and artillery systems were deployed to near a border with Lithuanian when now conducts NATO’s Saber Strike-2018 exercise.

Saber Strike 18 is a multinational exercise scheduled to run from June 3-15 that tests NATO’S enhanced forward presence (eFP) battle groups located in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The exercise is part of NATO’s goals to demonstrate the Alliance’s interoperability and help each participating country maintain the readiness of its forces.
