Taiwan’s company unveils new version of “The Jet” 4×4 armoured vehicle

Champion-Auto Industry has developed the upgraded variant of the “The Jet” 4×4 armoured vehicle.

The new variant of the armoured vehicle was displayed during the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE 2017).

“The Jet” fitted with slat armour kit especially designed to protect the tank against anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attacks. It takes the form of a rigid slatted metal grid fitted around of the vehicle, which disrupts the shaped charge of the warhead by either crushing it, preventing optimal detonation from occurring, or by damaging the fuzing mechanism, preventing detonation outright. Although slat armor is effective against incoming missiles, it does not offer complete protection.

The Champion-Auto Industry offers new vehicle to be used by police or armed forces. The standard vehicle’s body offers a protection against firing of small arms but in option the vehicle can be fitted with a new hull to increase the protection to STANAG 4569 level.
