A Ukrainian military specialist has published photographs of a downed Russian reconnaissance drone allegedly equipped with a Starlink satellite terminal and a locally manufactured onboard systems.
The images, shared by Serhiy Beskrestnov—also known by the callsign “Serhiy Flesh”—provide further evidence that Russia may be using civilian satellite internet services to conduct battlefield surveillance.
“Now I can say with certainty—Russians are using Starlink on UAVs for aerial reconnaissance,” Beskrestnov wrote in a public statement, accompanied by detailed photos of the captured drone.
One of the images clearly shows the crashed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) lying in forested terrain. Another close-up reveals a technical label affixed to a component inside the drone, identifying it as a product manufactured in Russia by a company called Revoteh OOO under the trade name “Raskat.”

The label, partially obscured by dirt, provides the following information:

This system appears to be a compact PC designed for embedded applications, possibly serving as a processing node for sensor data or communications management within the UAV.

The use of a Windows 11-based system raises questions about the drone’s data handling architecture. The device, labeled with a QR code and the Eurasian Conformity (EAC) mark, suggests it was produced for the Russian market and integrated into military platforms despite export controls and sanctions.
Beskrestnov’s photos and statement point to the presence of a Starlink terminal onboard the UAV that indicates active use of Western civilian satellite communications hardware in Russian military operations.
Previous reports have circulated about Russian units attempting to access the Starlink network in occupied areas. The new evidence suggests that these efforts may extend beyond ground-based terminals to air platforms, enhancing Russia’s ability to stream live reconnaissance data or maintain real-time control over surveillance drones operating far from direct radio contact.
Although the use of Starlink equipment by Russian forces has been widely denied by the satellite provider, this incident adds to mounting claims that terminals have been adapted or obtained through secondary channels.
