Russian Marines of the Northern Fleet Started Preparing for the “Naval derby”

Ten crews of BTR-82 APCs consisting of contract servicemen of the Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Northern Fleet are training for the “Naval derby” contest, which makes part of the programme of the International Army Games – 2016.

Marines are being trained on the basis of the formation’s training centre.

First the crews hone their firing and driving skills on armoured personnel carriers. Then they will have to practice other elements such as crossing water obstacles and engagement of coastal targets from water positions.

After the trainings, the best crew will be defined at the all-Russian competitions among the Baltic, Pacific, Black Sea Fleets and the Caspian flotilla.
