Polish DEDAL troop parachutes adopted for use by Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Polish DEDAL air assault parachute is designed for training jumps and combat deployment, was adopted for service by Ukrainian Armed Forces.

That was reported by Head of Communications and Press Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Colonel Gavrilyuk Oksana during a press briefing in the Ukrainian crisis media center.

According to the designers,  DEDAL parachute kit includes the AD-95 main parachute, and the chest-attached AZ-95 reserve parachute. Its design employs many novel law-protected solutions with the aim of improved security and functionality of the parachute. Flying characteristics allow individual and group jumps to be made. The method of donning the parachute allows to attach standard equipment containers, while the side-cover allows protection for the firearm during jump.

Depending on the needs the AD-95 parachute allows to jump with immediate opening on the line or with stabilisation (for example using the KAP-3P1 automatic device). When jumping with stabiliser the parachute can be opened at any time by pulling the ripcord.

AZ-95 reserve parachute is intended for rescue or support jumps. AZ-95 is easily attached by two snaps to the main parachute harness, and its small size allows the paratrooper to carry standard equipment and weapons. It can be opened with either left or right hand.

DEDAL troop parachute also used by Polish Army.
