The award covers the development of next-generation modeling systems that integrate large-scale biological data with artificial intelligence and machine learning to support flexible, modular approaches to understanding human biology.
Work under the contract will be performed in Dayton, Ohio, with completion expected by Feb. 3, 2029, or extended to Feb. 3, 2031, if all contract options are exercised. Initial fiscal 2025 funding of $1.15 million has been obligated at the time of award. The contracting activity is Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
According to the Department of War notice, the effort focuses on building modeling frameworks that combine data integration, databasing, and AI-driven analytics to better represent complex biological systems relevant to military operations. The contract was awarded without competition, citing sole-source justification.
As noted by the company, BlueHalo’s work in biological modeling extends beyond analysis to the creation of new modeling techniques. On its website, the company states that its teams develop capabilities across microbiome research, biomarker analysis, genomics, and organ-on-a-chip technologies designed to predict health outcomes and inform response measures.
