The U.S. Army has awarded software firm Palantir a $10 billion enterprise agreement aimed at consolidating and expanding its role across multiple defense programs involving artificial intelligence, data integration, and digital battlefield systems.
The firm-fixed-price contract was issued on July 31 by Army Contracting Command at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, under solicitation number W519TC-25-D-0039. The agreement transitions current contracts—where Palantir serves as a prime or subcontractor—into a unified enterprise structure. According to the Department of Defense, the contract will remain active through July 31, 2035, with work locations and funding determined per individual task orders.
Palantir, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, is known for developing software platforms that integrate large volumes of classified and unclassified data to support decision-making in combat and counterterrorism environments. The company’s tools are widely used across the U.S. defense and intelligence community, including the Department of Homeland Security, CIA, NSA, FBI, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Special Operations Command, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Palantir will work in coordination with multiple defense partners to deliver AI-enabled capabilities.
The scope of the enterprise agreement encompasses the integration of artificial intelligence into mission planning, logistics, intelligence analysis, and tactical operations. The company’s AI platforms are designed to enhance data-driven targeting, increase the speed of decision-making, and improve the survivability and effectiveness of deployed units.
Palantir’s technologies are also in use on the frontlines of the Russia-Ukraine war. Ukrainian forces have employed Palantir’s battlefield modeling systems to increase the precision and lethality of artillery fire. According to Ukrainian officials, the software helps accelerate targeting cycles and refine strike coordination by integrating live sensor data with geospatial intelligence.
In addition to battlefield support, the Ukrainian Office of the Prosecutor General is using Palantir software to gather digital evidence of Russian war crimes. The system enables investigators to process large volumes of visual and metadata to document potential violations of international law.
The company’s platforms are built to function across multiple security levels and are often tailored to the operational needs of end users. Palantir’s tools have been used in combat zones, domestic security operations, and humanitarian missions.
