NHIndustries has delivered the sixth NH90 helicopter to Norway

NHIndustries (NHI) has delivered the sixth NH90 helicopter to the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA), it announced on 4 February.

The delivery marks the end of the first phase of the Norwegian programme, which will see 14 NH90 helicopters delivered in total.

The fleet of six delivered NH90s will begin operations with the Norwegian Coast Guard later in 2016. The second phase includes the delivery of six helicopters for anti-submarine warfare and two more for coast guard operations.

The NH90 is being built in two variants: a tactical transport variant for land based operations and the NH90 NATO frigate helicopter for naval operations. The Norwegian NH90NFH has features such as a de-icing system and several sensors including a sonic suite, electronic warfare suite and multimode radar.
