The German Bundeswehr has demonstrated the capabilities of its Feldladegerät 140 Crayler, a remote-controlled forklift designed for military logistics and crisis response.
A one-minute video published on the Bundeswehr’s official YouTube channel showcases the system in action, highlighting its mobility and operational flexibility.
The Feldladegerät 140 (FLG 140), based on the Palfinger Crayler BM series, is a portable, highly maneuverable forklift that can be transported as an internal or external load via a CH-53G helicopter. Its design allows for rapid deployment in high-risk environments, making it an essential asset for military and humanitarian operations.
Unlike traditional forklifts, the Crayler FLG 140 is operated entirely via remote control, providing a safer alternative for personnel handling logistics in conflict zones. The system has a control range of up to 300 meters, allowing operators to manage cargo from a secure location while maintaining a clear line of sight to the vehicle. This feature significantly enhances safety by keeping personnel away from potential threats while ensuring efficiency in loading and unloading supplies.
The Bundeswehr’s video demonstrates the forklift in various operational scenarios, underscoring its adaptability in different terrains and logistical challenges. Despite not being a new addition to the Bundeswehr’s inventory, the FLG 140 continues to surprise observers with its capabilities.
