Armenian army says it attacked Azerbaijani main battle tanks

Armenian forces have attacked Azerbaijani troops in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia said, describing the raids as retaliation for shelling along the whole front.

Sunday’s attacks hit Azerbaijani observation posts, combat vehicles, command-and-control bases, and helicopters, an Armenian military statement said.

The Press secretary of the Armenian Minister of Defence, Shushan Stepanyan has released footage showed an attack on Azerbaijani combat vehicles, include T-72 tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and engineering vehicle.

Clashes have broken out between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Azerbaijan had launched an air and artillery attack.

Azerbaijan said it was responding to shelling along the whole front. Both sides have reported civilian deaths.
