Ukraine’s defense industry is set to ramp up production of the Novator armored vehicle, with the manufacturer planning to double output in 2025.
The announcement was made by Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armor, during a televised interview on military developments.
Belbas acknowledged that the year began with challenges related to contract finalization, as multi-year agreements had yet to receive full funding. However, he noted that recent positive developments had accelerated procurement efforts. The company has already secured contracts exceeding last year’s production volume by more than one and a half times and is on track to meet its ambitious target of doubling output.
The Novator, a light armored personnel carrier, has become a key asset for Ukraine’s armed forces, providing mobility and protection in high-risk combat zones. Designed for rapid deployment and versatility, it offers enhanced mine resistance and ballistic protection while maintaining high maneuverability. Built on a reinforced chassis, it is capable of withstanding small-arms fire and explosive threats, making it a crucial component in frontline operations.
Belbas emphasized that domestic manufacturers are now fully capable of meeting battlefield demands for armored vehicles. He also asserted that Ukrainian-made equipment matches, and in some cases surpasses, foreign alternatives in terms of quality and battlefield performance. The company remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that each vehicle is upgraded in response to operational feedback. Immediate refinements are implemented whenever issues arise, a process that has been crucial in maintaining reliability under combat conditions.
One of the strengths of Ukrainian Armor lies in its extensive after-sales and field service support. The company provides maintenance, repairs, and post-warranty assistance, ensuring that deployed units remain operational for extended periods. This service-oriented approach has been a key factor in its success, as logistical support plays an essential role in sustaining military hardware in combat zones.
The expansion of Novator production is part of a broader effort to enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Increased manufacturing output is expected to help bridge supply gaps and maintain operational readiness as the conflict continues.
