Azerbaijan to order Super Mushshak primary trainer aircraft from Pakistan

Azerbaijan and Pakistan will sign an agreement on the purchase of Super Mushshak primary trainer aircraft, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in Baku Nov. 30 at a joint press conference with foreign ministers of Turkey and Pakistan.

That was reported by azeridefence.com.

“We should examine availability of opportunities for the development of cooperation in various spheres, including the defense industry, at the expert level,” Mammadyarov added.

On Sept. 25, Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force Sohail Aman during his meeting in Baku with the commander of the Air Force of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov said that Pakistan had undertaken commitments of the contract for the timely delivery of Super Mushshak aircraft to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting in Baku, Sohail Aman and Ramiz Tahirov also discussed prospects of training Azerbaijani military pilots in the institutes of the Pakistan Air Force.

Earlier, the Pakistan Air Force said in a statement that Azerbaijan purchased 10 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft from Pakistan.

Super Mushshak is a military trainer aircraft designed and manufactured by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex for the Pakistan Air Force. It was derived from the MFI-17 Mushshak trainer aircraft. Approximately 300 aircraft are currently operational at the academies of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
