Iran unveils new combat and defence systems

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan in a ceremony in Tehran on Monday unveiled and inaugurated the production line of 5 combat and defence products.

The 5 achievements include Fajr 5 guided rocket, Misaq 33 system to fire shoulder-launched weapons, 40-mm grenade-launcher system, Masaf 45*5.56-caliber gun and a new type of pistol.

Addressing the ceremony, General Dehqan underlined the indigenous nature of the weapons, and said they will considerably increase the Iranian Armed Forces’ defense power and operational mobility in the fields of personal combat and air defense.

Last April, Iran unveiled its latest home-made state-of-the-art military products in a ceremony participated by Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan.

The new achievements which were unveiled on the occasion of the Army Day (April 17) included optimized Chieftain tanks, communication node vehicles and TOW missile test stations.

Also, the 57-mm self-propelled wheeled air defense system, ‘Bahman’, the 5-ton 6*6 ‘Kian’ military vehicle, ‘Shahram’ mobile nuclear detection lab, Pouria tactical vehicle that carries super heavy tanks and ‘Tiam’ battle tank were unveiled during the ceremony.

In addition to unveiling the weapons and equipment, the Iranian Ground Force delivered a large number of home-made ambulances, cranes, water tankers, armored vehicles, 7.62-mm sniper guns and vehicles which carry super heavy tanks to different units.
