State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is testing Tatra Force tactical vehicle

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, working on the successor to the long-serving Soviet-made four-wheel-drive army truck GAZ-66 to carry troops, is testing the new Tatra Force tactical vehicle.

The State Border Service of Ukraine beginning of the first phase of field trials of multipurpose truck Czech-made Tatra Force, which was first taken to the trial operation.

The Tatra Force (formerly known as T 815-7) is a standardized range of special vehicles complying with all requirements from special military forces such as the ability to be transported by standard NATO C-130 Hercules, Il-76 or An-70 aircraft, the possibility of additional armor according to STANAG, the use of an overpressure NBC protection kit, the possibility of mounting a gun carriage system, etc. The chassis is based on the TATRA vehicle design. All axles are suspended by rubber air bellows placed under the frame. For the rear axles, the King Frame combined suspension system can also be used.

In Ukraine, the tested version of T 815-7L0R59 19 257 4 × 4.1R.

Vehicle are equipped with a low cab. Engines available are of TATRA design, these are directly air-cooled engines, or they are made by other manufacturers abroad. In this case, they are liquid-cooled. As for transmissions, they can be manual (TATRA), or automatic (Allison or Twin Disc). The TATRA transmission unit can be equipped, upon request, with the TATRA-Norgren electronic gear shifting system.
