«Azov» Engineering Group unveils BKM 4×4 armoured vehicle

The «Azov» Engineering Group has developed the project of the improved version of Soviet-made BRDM-2 wheeled reconnaissance vehicle.

The new BKM (Fighting wheeled vehicle) armoured vehicle was developed for Armed Forces of Ukraine,  that was reported by Editor in Chief of the military magazine Defense Express Serhiy Zgurets.

The BKM armoured vehicle  weighs eight tons. It is based on the chassis of Soviet-made BRDM-2 but with many improvements: the original turret is removed and there is two hatches on the top of crew compartment and one door on each side of the hull.

The vehicle is fully amphibious but the single water-jet of the original BRDM-2 is replaced by two propellers mounted on each side at the rear of the chassis.

The new armoured vehicle has an engine Generals Motors (215 hp) with electronic fuel control and reinforced manual transmission.  The vehicle can run at a maximum road speed of 90 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 500 km.
