Ukraine conducts first “Vilha” multiple rocket launch system

The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully test-fired a new “Vilha” (Alder in Ukrainian) multiple rocket launch (MLR) system on 26 August 2016.

The successfully test-fired conducted at the site near Odessa – in a place where such tests were conducted for the first time.

According to the press service of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Council (NSDC) the new “Vilha” MLR has a range of up to 300 kilometers and can be armed with various types of warheads.

“Our military-industrial complex, our scientists and designers were tasked with the goal of ensuring that Ukrainian missiles can be produced without even one component made in the Russian Federation. Our military industry together with scientists has worthily carried out this task. Our missile successfully accomplished the tasks set before it, and hit the intended target precisely,” that said by RNBO Secretary Oleksander Turchynov

In co-operation on the develops and production of a new set of missiles and includes leading enterprises of the defense industry of Ukraine to the integrating role State Enterprise “State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” (Kiyv).
