Over Warsaw will fly Hermes 900 drone during NATO summit

During the NATO summit, which will take place in Warsaw on 8-9 July 2016 over Warsaw will fly Israeli  Hermes 900 medium size multi-payload unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

The Hermes 900 drone designed for medium altitude long endurance (MALE) tactical missions and was delivered from Israel. It will also controlled  by the soldiers from Israel.

The Polish Ministry of Defence is considering offers by  Elbit Systems for its program to acquire new medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) drones for the country’s armed forces.

The MALE drone procurement will be carried out under the military’s Zefir program. Under the plan, the drones are to be delivered to Poland by 2019. In total, the Polish military is aiming to acquire some 350 UAVs.

Hermes 900 is the most recent MALE procured by the Israel Defense Forces as well as by multiple international customers. Hermes 900 is next generation multi-role MALE. It features over-the-horizon, persistent multi-mission, multi-payload capabilities with class leading payload carrying capacity of 350 kgs. It is capable of performing missions for area dominance, persistent intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR). Hermes 900 also can perform ground support and maritime patrol missions, and offers the capability for integrated multi-platform, multi-sensor operation.
