A new air defence missile regiment of the Northern Fleet Kola Air Defence formation has taken up combat duty, defending Russian air boundaries.

The regiment is located at the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. It is equipped with the S-300 AA missile system, capable of destroying enemy air assault weapons within the range of several hundred kilometers.
