Ukrainian Army orders new BTR-3DA armoured personnel carriers

The Armed Forces of Ukraine has ordered the new BTR-3DA armoured personnel carriers, manufactured by SE “Kyiv Armored Plant”.

“Was signed an agreement for the procurement of BTR-3DA armoured personnel carriers for Armed Forces of Ukraine”, said head and editor-in-chief of Defense Express Media and Consulting company Serhiy Zgurets.

BTR-3DA is an improved variant of Ukranian BTR-3 armoured personnel carrier (APC). The APC is equipped with modern water-cooled four stroke 6-cylinder V-engine Deutz BF6M 1015CP and 3200SP transmission by the world’s leading brand Allison.

The new vehicle is faster than previous modifications, with improved protection of the crew, optoelectronic module with television and thermal imaging channels, allowing to conduct military operations at night. Weighting 16.5 tons, BTR-3DA speeds up to 104 km/h.

BTR-3DA is equipped with combat module “Sturm-M” with 30-mm ZTM-1, with a rate of fire of 330 rounds per minute. Targeting with modern digital laser complex with range finder and gun stabilizer ensure high accuracy of fire in all firing modes. Besides, the combat module “Sturm-M” is equipped with a 7.62-mm machine gun and automatic grenade launcher and the complex “Barrier,” providing armor-penetrating ability not less than 800 mm, not including dynamic protection, at a distance of 5 km, allowing to destroy enemy’s armored vehicles.
