The notice specifies that a Technical Data Package exists for the firing mechanism but is restricted to U.S. Department of War and authorized defense contractors. Access will only be granted to vendors holding a valid DD Form 2345 certification under the Joint Certification Program, a requirement used to safeguard militarily critical technical data. Officials stated that first article testing will be required, indicating the Army intends to verify manufacturing quality before approving production deliveries.
