Israeli-based firm to supply missile protection for VIP jets

Israeli company BIRD Aerosystems has received a follow-on order for its AeroShield missile protection system, featuring the SPREOS (Self Protection Radar Electro-Optic System) DIRCM.

As noted by the company, the order, placed by a long-standing NATO client, will equip VIP Dassault Falcon 7X and Airbus A319 aircraft with advanced countermeasures against missile threats. Delivery is scheduled for 2025 and includes system maintenance services.

SPREOS, a patented Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) system, provides detection, tracking, confirmation, and protection against missile threats, particularly man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS). It integrates with various missile warning systems to enhance aircraft survivability.
