Russian ‘Parody’ drone debris found in Ukraine

Ukraine’s National Police have released footage showing debris of a Russian decoy drone, identified as the “Parody,” used by Russian forces to mislead Ukrainian air defense systems.

The “Parody” drone is designed to divert fire away from Russian kamikaze drones, such as the Geran-2.

According to the footage, the decoy drone was used to mimic the radar signature of the Geran-2, also known as the Shahed-136. This is achieved through the use of Luneberg lenses, which increase the radar cross-section (RCS) of the decoys to match that of the more dangerous kamikaze drones. By deploying these “Parody” decoys alongside actual attack drones, Russian forces aim to overwhelm and confuse Ukraine’s air defense systems.
