In a meeting with representatives of domestic and foreign business, President Petro Poroshenko noted that the Ukrainian state had daily positive changes and achievements in implementing reforms in terms of economy, energy, security.
“On the NATO website, Ukraine moved to another category — it entered the list of aspirant countries. I decided to send a letter to NATO Secretary General basing on my agreements. And today Ukraine is included in the list of aspirant countries,” the President said.
“And we should continue to work hard to make Ukraine change in line with NATO standards. This will be largely promoted by the draft National Security Law, which was registered in the Parliament, approved and developed in close cooperation with our NATO partners,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
The President stresses that this also has a direct relation to the investment climate. “As parliamentary oversight of the defense and security sector increases, public control over the defense and security sector is intensified. And the level of trust in Ukraine as a reliable partner of NATO is increasing,” he said.
