Russia promotes air defence systems and tank’s armour in Turkey

Rosoboronexport expresses its desire to renew full-fledged military and technical cooperation with Turkey. The first practical step towards strengthening bilateral ties in the area is to become Rosoboronexport’s participation in IDEF’17, an International Defense Industry Fair to take place in Istanbul on May 9-12.

“Turkey is one of Rosoboronexport’s crucial partners. We are in consultations on a number of the most promising defense projects of mutual benefit. Ankara is particularly interested in Russian AD systems of various ranges, active and passive tank protection equipment, as well as small arms and ammunition for them, and special gear for the Ministries of National Defense and Interior,” said Rosoboronexport’s CEO Alexander Mikheev.

IDEF ranks among 10 largest defense industry exhibitions in the world and is one of the most prominent arms show in Europe. It is a biennial event aimed at displaying modern defense technologies and various equipment in the defense industrial domain, as well as cutting-edge military systems delivered for export in the world market.

Rosoboronexport has been coming to IDEF since 1995. Its specialists are resolved to fulfill a rather extensive business program on the sidelines of the exhibition. They expect to meet government officials, representatives of the Armed Forces and business community of Turkey and other countries.
