Ukraine proposes NATO to use SE Antonov aircrafts for strategic transportation of troops

“During the visit to the NATO Summit General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak announced some proposals to his foreign colleagues which will develop NATO-Ukraine cooperation and will permit to use our potential in favor of joint security interests,” Maj. Gen. Anatoliy Petrenko, Director of Department for Military Policy, Strategic Planning and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, stated it during a briefing following the NATO Warsaw summit.

“We propose NATO by using potential of SE Antonov – Ruslan and Mria aircrafts – to start strategic transportation of troops,” he said. Moreover, considering our priceless experience in fighting hybrid threats, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine made a proposal on initiation of interoperability on study and fighting these threats.

“They accepted this proposal positively and we plan to start the realization of this initiative within several months,” he mentioned.
