Terma A/S announced on November 27, 2025, that it has completed the acquisition of OSL Technology, a UK company known for counter-drone and intelligent security systems. According to the company, the move strengthens its strategy to expand market-ready Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems and critical-infrastructure protection solutions. OSL is a UK specialist with long-running experience in civil aviation security, supporting major airports and national-infrastructure facilities in detecting, tracking, and managing drones and other aerial threats. Terma said it will integrate OSL’s civil-airspace expertise with its own defense-domain radar, sensor, and command-and-control technologies. The aircraft- and sensor-surveillance solutions developed by Terma have been used for decades by navies, air-defense units, and operators of critical infrastructure. With OSL’s acquisition, Terma says it can now offer a unified C-UAS architecture that connects sensors, analytics, and effectors into one operational picture. In a statement, Henriette H. Thygesen, CEO of Terma, said, “OSL’s operational performance – from years of protecting critical infrastructure at Heathrow and other major sites – shows it delivers where it matters most. Paired with Terma’s multi-domain capacity, built on decades of delivering situational awareness and defense-grade command-and-control, and further informed by partnerships in Ukraine, we now offer one of the most comprehensive C-UAS suites on the market, helping to set a higher standard for protecting people, airspace, and critical infrastructure.” She added that the combined capabilities could support future European defense initiatives, including the proposed EU drone program. OSL’s role in civil-sector protection includes work with complex airport and infrastructure environments where drone incursions have become a growing challenge. The company has developed a platform for detection, classification, and coordinated response, integrating sensors and automated decision-support tools. Mark Legh-Smith, CEO of OSL, said in a statement, “Joining Terma is an extraordinary opportunity for OSL and our customers. Terma’s multi-domain expertise together with our C-UAS platform and agility create unmatched depth of capability – from sensor to decision to response. It means faster detection, smarter classification, and precisely coordinated action. It’s the perfect combination of innovation and assurance.” According to Terma, the combined offering will provide airport authorities, critical-infrastructure operators, and defense customers with one integrated C-UAS system that can be deployed quickly and operated immediately. The joint architecture supports sea, air, and land surveillance, and is designed to work with third-party sensors and effectors to form a complete operational picture from the tactical level up to strategic command elements. Terma and OSL will continue serving domestic and international clients across both civilian and defense sectors. The company says the acquisition will allow it to deliver scalable solutions that meet rising global demand for drone-security systems.
