Oshkosh Defense has secured a $49.2 million contract to convert and deliver upgraded cargo vehicles for the United States Marine Corps, the Department of War announced.
According to a release, the contract calls for Oshkosh Defense LLC of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to convert an undisclosed number of Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) Extra Long Wheelbase cargo armored vehicles into Condition Code “A” Resupply Vehicles.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract is firm-fixed-price and extends through November 2030. All conversion work will take place at Oshkosh Defense’s production facility in Wisconsin.
“The maximum dollar value, including all ordering years, is $49,200,000,” the Marine Corps Systems Command said in the release. “No funds will be obligated at time of award. Funds will be obligated on individual delivery orders as they are issued.”
The vehicles being converted are part of the MTVR platform family, which serves as the primary medium tactical wheeled transport for the Marine Corps. The Extra Long Wheelbase variant offers greater cargo capacity and is typically used for logistics missions in austere or contested environments.
The MTVR series is widely used in overseas deployments and has been adapted for armored roles including troop transport, supply runs, and protected logistics. Bringing older cargo variants up to Condition Code “A” means the vehicles will be restored to fully operational status, including systems testing, inspection, and validation before reissue to frontline Marine Corps units.
