General Electric has received a contract valued at $9.7 million for the procurement of initial provisioning spares and consumables for the F110-GE-129 engine.
The U.S. Air Force Lifecycle Management Center awarded the contract on November 18, 2025.
According to the Department of War, the contract supports a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirement for the Bulgarian Air Force and is part of Bulgaria’s engine support package for its current and incoming fighter fleet. Work will be performed in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is scheduled for completion by November 27, 2026.
In a statement released with the award notice, officials noted that “this contract provides initial provisioning of F110-GE-129 engine component spares and consumables,” referring to a standard package of parts and replaceable materials needed to maintain engine readiness during early operational deployment.
The F110-GE-129 engine, manufactured by General Electric and operated by both U.S. and allied air forces, powers several advanced fighter aircraft, including certain variants of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The engine is known for delivering higher thrust, improved durability, and better mission flexibility compared to earlier models.

FMS funds in the full contract amount of $9,740,500 have been obligated at the time of award. The contracting activity is the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, Air Force Sustainment Center, located at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
The Bulgarian Air Force has been upgrading its tactical airpower capabilities and has received support under several U.S. Foreign Military Sales cases in recent years. The F110 engine provisioning effort is expected to ensure spare parts availability during the initial service period of these engines.
