Türkiye’s KHAN ballistic missile system, which is slated for export to Indonesia, has been showcased at the IDEF 2025 international defense exhibition in Istanbul.
The appearance highlights Türkiye’s expanding role in the global defense market and its growing ties with Southeast Asia.
An agreement for the supply of the KHAN system to Indonesia was signed in 2022. The system, developed by Roketsan, is designed to provide long-range precision strike capabilities and can engage targets at distances up to 280 kilometers.
The KHAN system is integrated on a Tatra 8×8 platform, offering enhanced mobility and rapid deployment, making it a versatile asset for modern armed forces.
According to Roketsan, the missile is equipped with advanced GPS and GLONASS-aided inertial navigation systems (INS) to ensure accuracy under demanding battlefield conditions. The missile has a diameter of 610mm and weighs 2,500 kilograms.

At IDEF 2025, Roketsan officials highlighted the KHAN system as a key component of Türkiye’s defense export strategy. The company noted that Indonesia’s acquisition of the missile system reflects the country’s efforts to strengthen its deterrence capabilities in a region marked by growing security challenges.
The delivery of the KHAN system to Indonesia is expected to begin later this year.
