BAE systems receives $656M for Bradley production

BAE Systems Land & Armaments L.P., based in York, Pennsylvania, has been awarded a $656.2 million contract to produce M2A4 and M7A4 vehicles for the U.S. Army.

The contract, issued by Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, has an estimated completion date of November 30, 2027.

The M2A4 and M7A4 are advanced versions of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, known for their versatility and effectiveness in mechanized combat. These vehicles are integral to the U.S. Army’s armored forces, providing enhanced protection, mobility, and firepower on the battlefield. The updated designs include improved armor, upgraded communications systems, and advanced situational awareness technology to support modern combat operations.

The contract was solicited via the internet, with BAE Systems submitting the sole bid. Specific work locations and funding details will be determined as individual orders are placed under the contract.

The Bradley Fighting Vehicle family has been a critical component of U.S. military operations since its introduction in the 1980s. The M2A4 Infantry Fighting Vehicle is designed to transport troops while providing fire support, while the M7A4 Fire Support Vehicle focuses on integrating advanced targeting and reconnaissance capabilities.
