Dozens of military aircraft take part in rehearsals of Ukraine’s independence parade

Dozens of military aircraft and helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force and Naval Aviation have been taking part in rehearsals ahead of a flypast over Kyiv to mark the Independence Day on August 24.

First time in many years, Ukrainian combat aviation will take part in the celebration of the country’s independence. Up to 30 aircraft representing the Ukrainian Air Force and Naval Aviation will take part in the flypast on 24 August.

During the 27th anniversary of the country’s independence will involve different components. The Mi-8 helicopters of Air Force and Mi-14 of the Naval Aviation will open the parade. After them, An-26 and Il-76 transport aircraft with Su-25 close-support aircraft, Su-24 all-weather attack aircraft, Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets will fly in a combat formation over Kyiv.

The upgraded Mi-14 amphibious anti-submarine helicopters will be demonstrated for the first time at Ukraine’s military parade.

On the ground, they will be followed by 4,500 men and women of the ground forces will parade, followed by 250 vehicles of various units, including newest Yatagan, T-84 main battle tanks, Bogdana 155mm artillery system and new tactical ballistic missile system.
