General Dynamics European Land Systems has been awarded a contract to deliver 34 Pandur 6×6 armored vehicles to the Austrian Armed Forces.
The vehicle supply contract, signed on December 22, 2016, with the Austrian Ministry of Defense. The modernized version of the PANDUR 6×6 vehicles will be completely manufactured in Austria and the first vehicle will be delivered in 2018.
Austria currently operates 71 of the vehicles procured under a 1991 contract.
The value of the new contract for the latest version of the Pandur 6×6, signed last month by the company and the Austrian Ministry of Defense, was not disclosed.

In addition to a new power pack, the Pandur 6×6 vehicles to be supplied are better protected against landmines and will be equipped with a remotely controlled weapon station.
The PANDUR represents a family of wheeled armored vehicles serving as a common platform for various armament and equipment.
