Streit to build manufacturing plant in Barrie

An Innisfil based armoured car company is moving its manufacturing plant to Barrie in 2015.

Streit Group manufactures vehicles for both military and civilian use and already has 25 offices and 12 manufacturing facilities around the world.

The new 75,000 square foot site on King Street will allow the company to double the number of cars it makes in Canada as well as expand its line to larger vehicles.

The company will hire an additional 40 employees when the plant opens, those jobs vary from welding positions to health and safety and quality control.
