Germany-based Quantum Systems on March 11 announced a partnership with Daimler Truck aimed at developing unmanned military logistics vehicles with the MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit.
The announcement was made during the LogNet 2026 conference in Koblenz, where the companies outlined plans to integrate autonomous driving and teleoperation technologies into military truck platforms.
According to Quantum Systems, the new partnership combines the company’s autonomy and teleoperation technologies with Daimler Truck’s vehicle platforms and industrial integration capabilities. The goal is to develop scalable logistics systems that can support modern military operations using a combination of manned and unmanned vehicles.
The MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit is designed to enable automated driving and remote teleoperation for military trucks. The system integrates with the company’s MOSAIC UXS software suite, which coordinates both crewed and uncrewed systems through a single command interface within existing command-and-control structures.
As noted by the company, Daimler Truck will provide the base vehicle platforms while supporting the integration of the MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit into military truck architectures. The partnership aims to create interoperable systems capable of supporting logistics operations across a range of operational environments.
“Autonomy in military logistics is about multiplying operational capability for modern armed forces,” said Hendrik Kramer, Vice President Ground Domain at Quantum Systems. “By combining proven vehicle platforms with our operationally validated Autonomy Kit, we are enabling armed forces to move supplies in contested environments with fewer personnel, greater resilience, and full integration into existing command structures.”
The MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit supports several operational modes, including leader-follower vehicle operations. In this configuration, a crewed lead vehicle guides multiple unmanned trucks that follow along the same route.
This approach allows a single driver to control a convoy of vehicles, reducing the number of personnel required to operate military logistics convoys. The system also enables teleoperated driving, allowing operators to control vehicles remotely when operating in areas considered high risk.
Quantum Systems said the design emphasizes operational use rather than purely experimental automation. The autonomy kit relies on a combination of sensors and software systems that enable vehicles to navigate and maintain safe operations in complex environments.
The system is built as a platform-based solution that can be integrated into multiple vehicle types rather than being limited to a single manufacturer. According to Quantum Systems, this architecture allows armed forces to introduce autonomous capabilities gradually into existing vehicle fleets.
The company also said the kit is designed to support retrofit installation, allowing autonomy systems to be added to vehicles already in service. This approach could enable militaries to deploy autonomous logistics capabilities without requiring entirely new vehicle fleets.
Daniel Zittel, Head of Defence Sales at Daimler Truck AG, said the integration effort aims to connect ground vehicles with broader unmanned systems networks.
“By integrating our vehicles into MOSAIC, we will be able to seamlessly connect them with other ground-based systems and unmanned aerial systems in the future,” Zittel said. “We are continuing to develop our trucks into semi-autonomous and unmanned vehicle platforms.”
Quantum Systems has previously focused primarily on unmanned aerial systems, developing reconnaissance drones used by several military customers. The MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit represents an expansion of the company’s autonomy technologies into ground-based platforms.
