Pakistan releases photos of Indian fighter jet they claim to have shot down

The Director General (DG) of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), MajorGeneral Asif Ghafoor said that one plane had fallen inside Pakistani territory and two pilots had been captured. India has not yet given details. Pakistan has denied reports one of its jets was shot down.

Later, was released video showed one Indian captured pilot.  In a video, the Indian pilot identified himself as Wing Commander Abhinandan. His service number is 27981 and he is a flying pilot. He also identified himself as a Hindu but refused to give any more information. “That’s all I’m supposed to tell you,” he told the soldiers interrogating him.

According to Pakistan’s media reports, the MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in the Kohi Rata sector of Azad Kashmir.

Some source also reported that Wing Commander Abhi Nandan is pilot of a MiG-21 Bison fighter jet of India Air Force’s 51st Squadron and he is 1st Wing Commander from Srinagar Air Force Station.

Furthermore, two people were killed when an Indian Mi-17V-5 transport helicopter crashed Wednesday morning in Indian-administered Kashmir.

According to the local source, the Mi-17V-5 helicopter of Indian Air Force crashed near Budgam, 7 km from the Srinagar International Airport. At least two bodies were found at the site.

Both India and Pakistan claim all of Muslim-majority Kashmir, but control only parts of it. The two countries have fought three wars and a limited conflict since independence from Britain in 1947 – and all but one were over Kashmir.
